Bus line with permanent route: Between January 1, 2011 and June 30, 2011, this bus line will be operating on the following route: International Airport Ferihegy 2 – International Airport Ferihegy 1 – Deák Ferenc Square – Roosevelt Square.

Schedule:

Roosevelt Square – International Airport Ferihegy 2: 4:00 – 21:00
International Airport Ferihegy 2 – Roosevelt Square: 7:30 – 24:00
Every 30 minutes Mon thru Fri.
Every 60 minutes on Sat-Sun.
Fee: 5 EUR or its equivalent in Hungarian forints

Shuttle service: AirportShuttle-Minibus offers special rates for the delegates arriving for the events of the Hungarian Presidency; the terms of the offer will be specified on the invitation cards sent out to the delegates. Delegates have to sign up for the shuttle service at the AirportShuttle Desks, which can be found at all terminals of the Airport.

Centrum Bus: This bus line will be operating from 3rd of January. It will take passengers to downtown Budapest on the following line: International Airport Ferihegy 2 – International Airport Ferihegy 1 – Madách Square. Tickets are available at the Airport Shuttle Information Desk.

Operating hours: 9:00-16:00 and 21:00-23:00 every day

Fee: 4 EUR per passenger

FROM BUDAPEST TO GÖDÖLLŐ

By car

The location in Gödöllő only offers a limited number of parking spaces, thus you should get to the press centre by the designated shuttle bus (see below).

  • you can take highway M3: if you are in downtown, drive on Andrássy street to highway M3, and drive on to the turn at Gödöllő
  • you can take road 3: at Keleti Railway Station take Kerepesi street, which will lead you to road 3, and road 3 will take you directly to Gödöllő
  • you can turn on highway M0, from which you can turn onto M3 (direction Nyíregyháza)

By bus

  • Depending on the number of journalists wishing to attend the events in Gödöllő and on other needs, coach transport will be provided for participants from downtown Budapest to the location of each event in the morning and back. A limited number of parking spaces outside the House of Arts (Művészetek Háza) in Gödöllő will be reserved primarily for the disabled and for international television crews.

    Further information on coach departure times and locations will be provided before each event.

    If you need the coach service, please let us know at pressaccr@eu2011.hu indicating your name, press agency and e-mail address. If you need any of the limited number of parking spaces outside the House of Arts, please inform us at the same e-mail address.

  • Regular bus lines operate between Stadion Bus Station in Budapest and Gödöllő Bus Station from 6:00 until 22:45 as well as between Gödöllő and Budapest from 6:00 until 19:30 on weekdays. The bus ride takes about 37-54 minutes.

By train

  • Trains leave from Keleti Railway Station Budapest from 4:30 until 23:45, and from Gödöllő they leave from 3:30 until 22:30. It takes about 30-40 minutes.

By local train (S-Bahn)

  • From Örs vezér in Budapest local trains called HÉV operate between 6:00-22:45, and from Gödöllő they operate between 3:45-22:45 on weekdays. It takes 47 minutes.

FROM FERIHEGY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT TO GÖDÖLLŐ

If you want to drive from International Airport Budapest directly to Gödöllő, take highway M31, and you will be there in 15-20 minutes.

Buses directly to Gödöllő will be provided for the delegations coming to the events of the Hungarian Presidency as well as for journalists in case of public events, (details about when and where the buses leave from will be provided a few days before the events).
