June 30.Accession negotiations with Croatia, which started in 2005, has been officially concluded on the last day of the Hungarian Presidency, Minister for Foreign Affairs János Martonyi announced in Brussels, on the 13th ministerial level EU–Croatia accession conference. He stressed that 30 June 2011 is a day of historic significance, not only for Croatia, but also for the European Union. |

![]() Istvan Szabo2011. June 20.The outstanding director of Miklos Jancso’s ”big generation”, Istvan Szabo was born on Februray 18, 1938 in Budapest. He graduated from the University of Theater and Film in 1960 as a movie director. He was in the class of Felix Mariassy where the teacher aid was Karoly Makk. Among his classmates were Judit Elek, Zoltan Huszarik, Zsolt Kezdi-Kovács, and Janos Rozsa. At his first workplace, the Hungarian News and Documentary Company, he was the assistant of Istvan Nemeskurty. From the very beginning, his short-films caught the audience’s attention. |
