Another requirement was to organize an exhibition that suits the profile of the host venue, Collegium Hungaricum Vienna. The challenging task was successfully executed by four talented contemporary artists, sculptor Gabor Miklos Szoke (Hungary) and designers Fidel Peugeuot, Karl Emilio Pirchert (Austria), and Daniel Posta (Czech Republic).
These four artists and their impressive careers guarantee an exciting and extraordinary experience when visiting Vienna. The works of Gabor Miklos Szoke have been displayed in a number of exhibits in recent years. Most recently, his criminal-like Doberman Pinscherswere displayed at the Art Fair in Budapest and his impulsive wooden horses were on display in the Castle Museums of Nagyteteny and Keszthely.
Fidelio Peugeuot and Karl Emilio Pircher are representatives of the Vienna based Walking Chair Design Studio. According to their artistic views, they are fond of clear ideas, surprises, and expressing those in the form of songs. As their motto says, “We make things and songs“. Among their products are several refreshing, out of the ordinary items, such as a boyfriend substituting pillow, a vegetarian trophy container, or a round-shaped table tennis table.
Daniel Posta also has no reason to feel ashamed when it comes to design and ideas. His works, centered on vegetables, are not only pleasant sights for the eye, but they also trigger vistor’s hunger.
The exhibition is open until August 31 in Collegium Hungaricum Vienna and according to preliminary plans, it is going to travel to Budapest in the coming fall on the occasion of the Design Week.
