The Eastern Partnership Summit will be held in Warsaw on 29-30 September, during Poland's EU Presidency.Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Hungarian counterpart Viktor Orbán are expecting the heads of state and government of the six Eastern Partnership states (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine), and the leaders of the twenty-seven EU Member States in the Polish capital.
The Hungarian Foreign Ministry will provide the wines for the working lunch and gala dinner free of charge, as stated in the letter of intent, which was signed in Luxembourg by Messrs Martonyi and Sikorski. The types of wine, the exact amounts and delivery dates will be determined based on the menu served.
The letter of intent, written by the Polish Ministry for Foreign Affairs confirms that the menus at high level meetings during their Presidency between July and December of 2011, will offer Hungarian wines. The catering companies for the events of the term will receive a list selecting those best suited to the menu; and purchase them according to standard rules.
It is an exceptional opportunity to introduce the products of Hungarian viticulture in the Council throughout 2011, during the terms of the Budapest and Warsaw Presidencies.According to the signed letter of intent, the countries are cooperating (referencing the centuries-old friendship between the two nations), to popularise and to promote Hungarian wines, as this also popularises the Central European region and its culture within the EU.
