Press Centres

During the Hungarian Presidency a small-size permanent press point will be operating in the new headquarters of the Representation of the European Commission to Hungary, at Millenáris Park, in Budapest.

A permanent press center will be operating in the House of Arts in Gödöllő, very close to the Gödöllő Castle, which will be the major venue for the Informal Ministerial Meetings.

A temporary press center will be set up just for one event in the town of Debrecen where the Informal Meeting of the Agriculture and Fisheries Council will be held.

A temporary press center will be operating in the Museum for Ethnography, close to the building of the Parliament, which can accomodate 200 journalists, during the Budapest events of the Presidency. These events are the ceremonial handing over of the rotating Presidency from the Belgian to the Hungarian government on January 6, and the Meeting of the Hungarian Presidency and the European Commission on January 7; both events will take place in the building of the Hungarian Parliament.

It is open during the Informal Ministerial Meetings. Accredited journalists will be given further information previously to the meeting, but details are to be found in the 'news and events' section of this homepage as well.

• or the road 3 from Örs vezér square, Budapest.

By bus or train you can take:

• the local train (S-bahn) at Örs vezér square (50 min), and get off at Gödöllő-Szabadság square
• a bus at Stadion Bus Station in Budapest
• a train at Keleti Railway Station ( towards Hatvan – Füzesabony – Miskolc direction)

This press point can accommodate 16 journalists. TV and radio cabins are not available.

Services:

Wifi, internet, 12 terminals, 4 PCs, international TV channels, snack bar, telephone lines, photocopy machines, Information Desk, brochures on the Hungarian Presidency.

Venue:

Millenáris Park, where the Press Center is set up, is located a few hundred meters from Moszkva Square and Széna Square, which are two major hubs, and is right next to the Mammut shopping center. The Park is enclosed by Lövőház street, Fény street, Kis Rókus street, and Marczibányi square.

This press center will be operating only for the time of the ceremonial handing over of the rotating Presidency from the Belgian to the Hungarian government on January 6 and the Meeting of the Hungarian Presidency and the European Commission on January 7.
