The European Competition Day is a high profile, international competition law conference, traditionally organised every six months by the national competition authority of the Member State in charge of the EU Presidency.
The topic of the conference will be the procedural convergence within the European Competition Network. Harmonisation in the areas of procedural rules, fining policies and leniency programmes within the ECN is of primary importance for both the competition authorities and the undertakings concerned. The conference will concentrate on two important areas, namely the decision-making powers and the investigative tools of competition authorities. Concerning the latter, a special emphasis will be placed on cartel detection.
Speakers and panel members of the event will be well-known competition lawyers and leading officials of European competition authorities.
