Enhancing the Development of EU Generic and Biosimilar Medicines Industry
Date: 2011, February 25 - 9:00am
In an era when increasing demands are being made on Europe’s health services, generic medicines provide a major benefit to society as they ensure patient access to quality, safe and effective medicines while reducing the cost of pharmaceutical care.
The main topics of this conference are the need to enhance the competitiveness of the European Union generic and biosimilar medicines industry by European Union level regulatory changes and by promoting high quality EU standards at international level.
If the existing regulatory environment is optimised, it will be possible to fully exploit the advantages offered by generic and biosimilar medicines for the sake of healthcare sustainability and for the benefit of the patients.
